Across the Bridge

Speak to the King once you've saved Princess Sara, and he will build a bridge north of Coneria. Crossing this bridge will trigger a short scene that sets up the true quest of the Light Warriors. It features music series veterans will be quite familiar with. Once the bridge is crossed, you have a choice of directions. You'll find Matoya's Cave to the north, and Pravoka to the east. You only need to travel to Pravoka at this point, but feel free to make a side trip.

Matoya's Cave

There is no particular need to visit Matoya's Cave until you retrieve her CRYSTAL, but it's worth stopping in on your way to Pravoka for two free HEAL Potions and a PURE Potion. Just be careful, because the ElfLand-area enemies are lurking near the entrance, and many of them are Poisonous.

Matoya's Cave (Optional)

If you continue north past the bridge, you'll eventually come upon Matoya's Cave at the end of a peninsula. However, be careful, because this area contains dangerous creatures from the ElfLand area, many of which are Poisonous.

The cave itself is not dangerous. You'll find Matoya the blind witch, who needs her CRYSTAL to see. She will become important later, but for the moment you should collect the PURE Potion and two HEAL Potions in the chests here.

Aside from the treasure, there is a useful hint to be found in Matoya's Cave. If you speak to the brooms, they will tell you to "TCELES B HSUP." Reverse that text and you get "PUSH B SELECT"—try doing just that (holding B and pressing Select) on the world map. This will bring up a map of the world with every town, castle, and dungeon marked. Your location is shown with crosshairs. This is especially useful to get your bearings when you're on the SHIP or AIRSHIP.

The path between Coneria and Pravoka introduces a pair of new Monsters. IGUANAS and OGRES are hardy foes that will not go down easily. MADPONIES are very dangerous to anyone not wearing Chain Armor or better, especially in groups. You will soon reach an inn, so don't hesitate to use your Spell slots during this trip. Be careful not to get in over your head, though—it is perfectly acceptable to run in the face of long odds.

To Pravoka

The trip east is longer, but the enemies aren't as dangerous. Follow the southern coastline to reach Pravoka. You can continue past the town and explore the countryside, but you won't find any landmarks in the area.

There is one area of interest near Pravoka, although you will want to wait a while before investigating it. If you head through the mountains southeast of town, then head north, you will find a long peninsula. The very northern tip of this peninsula features encounters from the Lefein area, a part of the map you wouldn't reach normally for quite some time. These encounters are, of course, extremely dangerous, but if you can win a fight or two, you can earn a lot of experience and G quite quickly. In particular, it is very effective to use FIR2 (purchased in ElfLand) to take out groups of FrWOLVES.
